Identifying your audience as a writer is often a challenging part of the job. While it may be tempting to overlook this detail and write your piece without an audience in mind, the tone of your writing can vastly differ depending on your reader. Understanding your target audience helps you to better gauge how to get your point effectively across while holding the attention of your reader. This will also aid you in sharing the information most imperative to move your piece forward in a timely and engaging matter.

When you’re writing, do so in such a way that your words are suitable and appealing to your target market.
